MPO's NEW SEASON

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS 11/12 Season kicked off with our Gala concert last Saturday, featuring Malaysian pianists Bobby Chen, Tengku Ahmad Irfan and Foo Mei Yi. Singer-songwriter du jour Yuna also brought the house down in two full-house concerts – a first for our DFP Spotlight series.

The MPO season continues this weekend with Liszt meets Wagner, including the famous Ride of Valkyries. Don’t miss this incredible journey through German romanticism on September 24 & 25. The MPO Chamber Players then take centrestage on September 27 with MOZART’s Piano Trio in G and HAYDN’s String Quartet – “The Lark”.

Our very own Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra performs Thematic Variations on October 1 at 3pm. Its first concert for the new season includes HAYDN’s Surprise Symphony and other favourites.


Exciting concerts to look out for in October include tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and the Masters of Percussion, Aizat Amdan and the return of the KLCC Seni Festival featuring the ASWARA Dance Company, Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia with Jaclyn Victor, the Seni Groove Ensemble, Badan Kesenian Warisan Johor and many more.
